The BoatBVI.com yacht charter company was founded by Tony and Gail King in 2002. Margo Rose joined us in 2014 and brought additional Caribbean expertise to the franchise.
BoatBVI has been in business for over 12 years and is managed and operated by charter professionals with a wide experience both as captains, crew, and charter brokerage. Our Staff has extensive sailing and boating backgrounds and extensive international experience in the Caribbean and especially the BVI and USVI. We strive to understand our clients needs and try to satisfy them whenever possible. We also understand boats and yachts – this is what we do for a living.
Our personnel attend the Caribbean Yacht Charter Shows in Tortola and St. Thomas and Antigua regularly. We are up-to-date with new boats, and new crews – the good, the bad and the ugly.
Our staff are members of the major yacht charter trade associations like CYBA and AYCA. This provides our clients with additional reassurance regarding the company’s capabilities, expertise and ethics. In principle, we do NOT ever recommend yachts or catamarans that we do not know or have not been aboard or have not met the crew. If there is limited availability over peak periods, we will always advise the client which boats we do not know personally. However in these cases we will always obtain references from our colleagues in the industry.

Tony King
Co-Founder | Partner and President of American Yacht, LLC
Tony has been in the charter industry since 1998, first as a yacht charter captain in the Caribbean Islands and subsequently as a Miami based agent for charter yachts all over the world. He has been a member of AYCA, the American Yacht Charter Association, since 2013. Tony was born in the United Kingdom. He was educated in Chile and the UK, and has a master’s degree from Rochester University in Michigan. Tony is bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
Gail king
Co-Founder | Partner and CEO of American Yacht, LLC
Gail has been in the yacht charter business for over 20 years and has been a member of CYBA, the Charter Yacht Brokers Association since 2004 and served on its board of Directors in various capacities. Gail started in the industry as a chef, crew member and 1st Mate on a charter yacht in the Caribbean islands, subsequently moving to Miami and starting the brokerage company that is now American Yacht. Gail was born and educated in the United Kingdom and currently lives in West Palm Beach County, Florida.
Margo Rose

After more than 20 enjoyable years in Corporate life it was time to just go sailing! I had been a life-long sailor and knew well the joys and benefits. The beautiful Caribbean sea and the islands beckoned so off I went and discovered the Chartering life as Crew and Charter Yacht owner for about 13 yrs. I sailed the Grenadines, and the Eastern Caribbean islands, and found myself in the beautiful US and British Virgin Islands. Once I sold my last boat, I followed my dreams and became a Charteryacht Broker. I just thrive on bringing people to what used to be “my back yard”.
It’s my passion and look forward to helping you experience your dreams on the waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Bianca is an FIU graduate in Business and Hospitality Management. She currently books and coordinates most of the weddings and special events yacht charters at American Yacht as well as keeping an eye on the financial performance of the company. Hazel Johnson

After several years pursuing different paths, Hazel is now back full-time with us at American Yacht, LLC. Hazel has valuable hands-on experience with the Caribbean charter industry, booking party yachts in Florida and term charter bookings in the Bahamas and Cuba. If you are booking a vacation in the amazing Bahamas islands, Cuba or the Florida Keys, you will likely be talking to Hazel. She was born in the UK and educated in Boca Raton, Florida.

Growing up as a kid I lived in New York enjoying snow days, and watching the seasons change. Now in Florida, I enjoy sun, sand and the beautiful waters it has to offer. People ask what I do when in my downtime. I say “I’m 5 minutes from the ocean, it’s always downtime.” Over 20 years as a radio disc jockey. I decided since I’m around the water so much, I should dive into the world of the family business of yacht charters. Dividing my time behind the microphone and booking charters from South Florida to Bora Bora. If I’m not taking advantage of what national food or drink day it is, I would be happy help you plan your next trip in paradise.
