Sailing Team

John and Fiona have been married for 8 years. After
following separate career paths they decided to get
out of the "rat race" and turn their passion for
sailing into a way of life.
John holds a UK Class 1 Master Mariners
certificate, having served as an officer in the
Royal Fleet Auxiliary for 21 years, starting with a
4 year Officer Cadetship that included crewing on
voyages aboard the college owned 102" ketch, which
is when his love of sailing began. He has traversed
most of the world"s seas and oceans from the North
Sea and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean, North
and South Pacific, and the North and South Atlantic
Oceans. He has sailed at invitational events with
the RN and foreign yacht clubs, as well as with
friends and relatives.
Fiona holds a Diploma in Hotel and Catering
Management, and has worked in hotels, restaurants,
and corporate hospitality, including holding the
post of General Manager for many years at the
prestigious country house hotel - Little Thakeham.
Her love of cooking started at an early age and has
been much influenced by the family moves to such
places as Bahrain, Singapore and the USA. Fiona is
no stranger to the water, having started sailing in
dinghies at the age of eight, and has since spent
her vacations in a variety of family and chartered
sailing boats. Fiona is also a qualified skipper to
RYA Day Skipper standard.
John and Fiona make an ideal sailing team and
have recently spent time together crewing a 90ft
Swan super-yacht for her owner. This has taken them
to Spain, Canaries, USA, Caribbean, Panama,
Galapagos and finally to Tahiti. They have recently
sailed Sundowner from the Hamble to the Caribbean.
They are water-sports enthusiasts for water-skiing,
snorkelling, scuba diving, kite surfing and much
more, and will be able to advise you on the
availability of such activities. John and Fiona look
forward to welcoming you to their home afloat and to
making your holiday one that you will enjoy to the
full. You should leave with many good memories and
two new friends. |
